When summer hits, you could very well find yourself dealing with high utility bills and you run your air conditioning system more and more often in order to stay comfortable within your home. In order to use your cooling system as efficiently as possible, we recommend investing in a ductless mini-split system.
This has the potential to drastically reduce your bills and make your home as energy efficient as possible. However, this is only true if you utilize your ductless cooling system in the right way. We’ve provided a couple tips below on how you can do just that.
Zone Your Home Correctly
One of the largest benefits of using a ductless mini-split system is that it has zoning capabilities that allows you to run your AC only in the parts of your home that you’ll be using, while keeping the air turned off elsewhere throughout your living space.
It’s helpful to know upfront which parts of the house that you’ll be in during the day and which areas you typically stay out of for the most part. This way, you could do stuff upstairs in the morning before the weather heats up, and then leave your air on in the bottom portion of your home, where you likely need it the most.
Adjust Your Settings
Ductless air conditioners let you set different temperatures in different rooms or sections. First off, this helps you avoid family disagreements over thermostat settings. This also helps in other scenarios as well. For example, if you’re cooking in the kitchen you probably want your air on to compensate for the hot oven, but you probably don’t need your AC to run at such a low temperature in other parts of the home.
