Why We Exist
We are a people company first — we just happen to build, move dirt, and heat and cool homes and businesses. But the projects aren’t the point. The communities are. The neighborhoods we drive through, the schools our kids attend, the roads our neighbors travel, the homes and businesses we step into every day — that’s who we work for, and that’s why we exist.
We build better communities by doing right by the people in them. That starts with our own ACI family and extends to every customer, every jobsite neighbor, every driver passing our work zone, and every person who lives downstream of the work we do.
Safety Is How That Commitment Shows Up
At ACI Northwest, safety isn’t a program, a binder, or a compliance checkbox. It’s how we show respect — for each other, for the people we serve, and for the communities we’re part of. The work we do carries real risk, and that risk doesn’t stop at the edge of our crew. A safe jobsite protects the homeowner whose driveway we’re working in, the family in the house next door, and the motorist driving past at 50 miles per hour.
We believe every team member deserves to go home healthy, proud, and confident in the work they did. And we believe every community we work in deserves to be safer because we were there — not just better built, but better cared for. Our success is measured not just by the absence of injury, but by the presence of care: care in our planning, our awareness, our interventions, and our commitment to one another.
Safety at ACI is created by our people, not enforced by compliance. Our mission is simple:
Make doing the right thing the easiest and most recognized thing.

How We Live It
Plan the work, work the plan.
Safety starts with hazard recognition — understanding not just what’s in front of us, but what could go wrong and how it could affect the people around us, including the public. That’s why we start every day with a Daily Game Plan. It’s not about paperwork; it’s about making sure everyone on the crew understands the work, the risks, and how we’re going to handle them — together — before the first piece of equipment moves.
No BS, no ego.
Are we perfect? Absolutely not, and we’re not pretending to be. We embrace humility, transparency, and accountability. We learn from our mistakes, we talk through our close calls openly, and we build trust through honest conversation — not paperwork, and not blame.
Teamwork makes all teams work.
We manage risk in the field, together. Every worker has both the authority and the responsibility to stop work when something doesn’t feel right — and leadership always backs that choice. We celebrate the people who look out for their teammates, who stop to rethink a task, and who share better ways to get the job done safely.
Continuous improvement.
Excellence in safety isn’t a destination — it’s a discipline. We get better every crew, every job, every day. The communities we serve deserve nothing less.

Building More Than Projects
At the end of the day, we’re not just building projects. We’re building trust with our neighbors, accountability within our crews, and stronger communities across Idaho and Eastern Washington. We do that by looking out for one another, by leaving every jobsite better than we found it, and by making safety something we live — not something we just talk about.
This is the ACI Way
A culture where safety starts with us — every person, every day, everywhere we build.
