Our Safety Culture
We are a people company first—we just happen to build, move dirt, and heat and cool homes and businesses. The work we do shapes our communities, but it’s the people behind the work that truly matter. That’s why we exist. Every project, every task, every decision comes back to one thing: taking care of our people and the communities we’re a part of.
Safety isn’t a program or a requirement—it’s how we show respect for each other. The work we do carries real risk, and we own that. We don’t ignore it, and we don’t manage it from a distance. We manage it in the field, together. That starts with hazard recognition—understanding not just what’s in front of us, but what could go wrong and how it could impact the people around us. When we recognize hazards early, we give ourselves the chance to control them before they control us.
That’s why we start with a plan. Having a Daily Game Plan isn’t about paperwork—it’s about making sure everyone understands the work, the risks, and how we’re going to handle them. It gives us the opportunity to speak up, adjust, and make sure we’re all on the same page before the first piece of equipment moves or the first tool gets picked up.
Are we perfect? Absolutely not. And we’re not pretending to be. What we are committed to is getting better—every crew, every job, every day. We learn from our mistakes, we talk through our close calls, and we look for ways to improve how we plan, communicate, and execute the work.
At the end of the day, we’re not just building projects—we’re building trust, accountability, and stronger communities. We do that by looking out for one another and making safety something we live, not something we just talk about.
